Downloading and Using the Lumion Viewer

As per the News announcement 25 October 2022, section 4. Lumion Viewer at the Lumion Community:

• Lumion Community:  The new version of Lumion and more updates!

Due to the low demand for the Lumion Viewer our team has taken the decision to refocus the development time for the Viewer on the main Lumion products. On the launch day of Lumion 2023, versions of the Lumion Viewer (12.5 and older) will be made available for download from the article (ed.): 

The link to download the Lumion Viewer from your Lumion Account will no longer be available, but rest assured, existing Lumion Pro users will still have access to it from this article(ed.).

1. Available Lumion Viewer versions

1.1:  Use the most recent version:

You should always be working in Lumion with the most recent update of the Lumion version.  If not, then first download and install the most recent update.  Here's how:

And then download the Lumion Viewer to match the same most recent version update.

Files are forward compatible, so you can open and edit Projects in the most recent update.  That is, there is no need to use an older update for the Lumion Editor or Lumion Viewer.

1.2: Main Lumion versions:

These are the final and last updates for each (major) version that is still supported. Please note that, starting with the 14th of March 2023, Lumion 9.5 and older are no longer supported.

1.3:  Minor Update versions:

2. Requirements

• The Lumion Viewer is an optional installation.
• It is only available for Lumion Pro licenses with a Perpetual License Key.
• It is not available for Lumion Pro Student licenses. 

The Lumion Viewer is only needed if you want to send a Project to a client and give them the unique ability to see and fly through the model in Lumions' real-time 3D. 

Or, if you want to view the Project in your organization and do not want to install the Lumion Editor. 

Alternatively, use the Lumion Editor installed on your PC for client demonstration.  In either Photo Mode or Movie Mode use the F11 hotkey to present in Theatre View.  You can also use F12 with F11 for a full screen Theatre View:

Please also note these important details:

• The Lumion Viewer can only open Projects made in Lumion Pro.
• To ensure the best viewing experience, the client will need a PC with the same (or better) specifications as the PC you are using to run Lumion.
• The client must also install the latest graphics card drivers and all available Windows updates.

3. Downloading the Lumion Viewer

4.  Sending the Lumion Viewer to your Client: 

4.1:  Lumion Viewer 12.3.1 or newer:

The link is no longer available in the Getting Started with Lumion email, so you will need to share the Download Manager/Installer exe file yourself.  For example:

4.1.1:  Download the Installer exe file (3MB) as in section 3 above.

4.1.2:  Send the exe file in an email or online file share.  It's possible the email system will reject/block sending an exe file, so you will need to compress the file with a zip compression software such as 7Zip and include a password.

4.1.3:  Share the exe file via your file share system or a file share host, for example, Dropbox, Gdrive, wetransfer.com (Free 2 GB transfers), transfer.pcloud.com (Free 5 GB transfers).

4.2:  Lumion Viewer 12.3 or older:

To forward the Download Manager/Installer link to your clients, right-click on the download link in the Getting Started with Lumion email (see section 1 above) and paste the link into an email to the desired recipient(s).
