### Overview of product line-up:
### Lumion Pro:
A full rendering solution that includes advanced tools and a built-in Library. The following editions are available:
- **Lumion Pro (Named-User):** Commercial license that is user-based, meaning each %%Seat%% has to be assigned to a user via the %%Lumion Account%%.
- **Lumion Pro (Floating):** This commercial license type is floating, and whoever needs it can run the software, as long as a *Seat* is available - without having to assign any users or create multiple %%Lumion Accounts%%.
- **Lumion Trial:** Free 2-week Trial of Lumion Pro for evaluation purposes. It uses the Named-User license system.
- **Lumion Student:** Free educational license for individual students in supported countries. Has to be renewed yearly and is not for commercial use. Uses the Named-User license system.
- **Lumion Faculty:** Free educational license for Universities in supported countries, intended to be installed on Lab PCs. Has to be renewed every 3 years and is not for commercial use. This is a floating license system.
- **Lumion Studio:** This edition is no longer available and was a bundle that included both Lumion Pro (floating) and Lumion View (named-user). It was discontinued on July 27, 2026.
### Lumion View (Now discontinued):
**Lumion View has been discontinued as a separate product and succeeded by Axogram.** Lumion View was previously available separately and as part of Lumion Studio. It was discontinued on September 15, 2026.

### Axogram:
Lumion View was succeeded by Axogram, which is a lightweight plugin designed for architectural diagramming directly within supported CAD applications. It retains the functionality previously available in Lumion View while adding new tools for creating and communicating architectural diagrams. Both versions use the Named-User license system, and it is available in two editions:
- **Axogram Free:** A slimmed-down version of the full commercial version with some features removed.
- **Axogram:** Full commercial license with no restrictions. Uses the Named-User license system. Can be renewed every 1 year or 3 years.

### Lumion Cloud:
Lumion Cloud is an online collaboration hub for architectural visualization that connects directly to Axogram and Pro to share renders, collect feedback, and manage project approvals. It is currently free for all users. Learn more below:

### **1. New Users:**
1.1: What is the difference between Axogram and Lumion Pro?
**Axogram:** Is a lightweight rendering plugin that works directly in your 3D modeling software. Currently, it is available for SketchUp, Revit, and ArchiCAD but will be expanded to more software.
**Lumion Pro:** Is the full rendering solution with named-user assignment that provides all the necessary tools for rendering.
1.2: Can I purchase Axogram and Pro together?
They have to be purchased separately, as the two products will have different Licenses.
1.3: Can I upgrade Axogram to Pro?
No, Axogram and Lumion Pro are two distinct products.
1.4: Can I upgrade Lumion Pro Named-User to Lumion Pro Floating?
Yes. This can be done via the *Lumion Account* by clicking your *License Key* and selecting 'Upgrade your *Subscription*' or, in case you did not purchase via our website, by contacting your [local partner.](https://lumion.com/about/find-reseller)
1.5: What is Lumion Cloud?
**Lumion Cloud** is a new visual project collaboration platform and comes included with your subscription.

### 2. Existing users - Perpetual Licenses:
2.1: Can I upgrade to Axogram?
No. Axogram is a product that is purchased separately.

2.2: Can I upgrade to Lumion Pro Named-User?
Yes, Lumion *Perpetual* License Key owners can upgrade to Lumion Pro Named-User. Here's how:

2.3: Can I upgrade to Lumion Pro Floating?
Yes, Lumion *Perpetual* License Key owners can upgrade to Lumion Pro Floating too.

### 3. Existing users - Subscription Licenses:
3.1: What happened to Lumion Standard?
Lumion Standard is no longer part of the Lumion product offering. All Lumion versions now include full features and Library content. Standard users were upgraded to Studio for free.
3.2: Will Perpetual licenses no longer be available?
%%Perpetual License Keys%% are no longer available for purchase, and Lumion is now fully subscription-based only.
3.3: Are Project files compatible between editions of Lumion?
Lumion commercial Project files (.LS# and .LSF files) can be opened in Lumion Pro Named User, Floating, and Trial editions.
Lumion educational Project files (.LS#S and .LSFS files) can only be opened in Lumion Student and Faculty editions.
3.4: What happens to Lumion Studio (discontinued) users?
You will continue having access to both Lumion Pro and Axogram with your Studio %%License Key%% till your subscription expires.
3.5: Do I have to pay an upgrade fee when a new version comes out?
No. You'll have access to the latest version of Lumion as your *Subscription* license remains valid.
3.6: Can I use my Lumion Pro files in Axogram?
Axogram is a plugin and cannot open Lumion Pro .LSF files - it simply renders the content of your model within the 3D CAD application.
3.7: Can I consolidate billing for Axogram and Pro if purchased separately?
Unfortunately, the billing for products purchased separately cannot be joined under a single invoice.
3.8: Is there a *Grace* period If i forget to renew my license?
The *Grace* period is 14 days after the expiry of your Subscription. Please see:

3.9: What access can I expect to my old project, once my *Subscription* expires?
You can still open your Lumion Pro %%Projects%% in 'Expired Mode', but you cannot edit them.
3.10: Is there a benefit in renewing rather than letting the *Subscription* expire and purchasing a new one?
You maintain an uninterrupted workflow in the products.
### **4. Axogram Subscriptions:**
4.1: Is Axogram a floating License?
Axogram authentication is Named User-based, not floating.
4.2: Can I upgrade Axogram to Lumion Pro?
Axogram is a different product from Lumion Pro; therefore, upgrading is not possible.
4.3: For which CAD software products can I use Axogram?
Currently, Axogram is available for SketchUp, Revit, and ArchiCAD. A MAC version for SketchUp is in active development, and more similar products will follow.
4.4: Do I need an internet connection to use Axogram?
Yes, user authentication requires an internet connection.
4.5: Can I transfer my Axogram Seat to another user?
Yes.
If you have available Seats on your %%License Key%%, you can simply assign a Seat to a user. An invite will be sent.
If you have no available Seats on your *License*, you need to revoke a user's access to assign a new one or purchase another Seat.

4.6: Is there a trial version of Axogram available?
Yes, and it can be downloaded for free here:

4.7: Is there any difference in rendering quality between Axogram and Pro?
Yes. The products have different rendering engines. While the underlying technology is similar, the results can be expected to be slightly different.
4.8: Can I use Axogram and Lumion Pro on the same project?
Yes. If you have access to both products, we recommend using Axogram for the early stages and polishing your final renders in Lumion Pro.
4.9: Do I need a separate License for each CAD software I use with Axogram?
No, Axogram is offered for all viable CAD applications that it has been developed for under the same Subscription.
4.10: Can I consolidate billing for Axogram and Pro if purchased separately?
Unfortunately, the billing for products purchased separately cannot be joined under a single invoice.
4.11: If I use both Axogram and Lumion Pro, will my scenes/settings sync?
Axogram works as a plugin within your CAD application, while Lumion Pro connects to the CAD model through its usual workflow. Your CAD model can therefore continue to sync with Lumion Pro as normal.
However, **Axogram-specific scenes and settings don't sync with Lumion Pro, since the Axogram plugin creates and manages them**. Materials and other model information supported by the CAD-to-Lumion workflow can still transfer to Lumion Pro, where scene-specific settings such as the camera, %%Environment%%, and %%Sun%% position are managed separately.
4.12: Is there a *Grace* period?
The *Grace* period is 14 days after the expiry of your *Subscription*. Please see:

4.13: What access can I expect to my old project once my *Subscription* expires?
**Axogram:** Once the License Key has expired, the project is still accessible in the 3D modeling software. However, Axogram will be inaccessible.
**Lumion Pro:** Once the License Key expires, the projects are still accessible but cannot be edited. Lumion Pro will open in 'Expired Mode'.
4.14: Is there a benefit in renewing rather than letting the *Subscription* expire?
You maintain an uninterrupted workflow in the products.
### 5. Lumion Studio Subscriptions (Discontinued as of July 27, 2026):
5.1: How many Seats do I get with Lumion Studio?
For Subscriptions purchased after the 29th of April 2025, you get as many Seats as selected at purchase.
5.2: How many Seats do I get with Lumion Studio when upgraded from Lumion Standard/Pro *Subscription*?
You get an equal number of Seats as you own on your current *Subscription*.
5.3: Can I downgrade to Lumion Pro?
A downgrade is not possible. Please let your License Key expire and purchase a new one for Lumion Pro.
You get an equal amount of Seats as you own on your current *Subscription*.
5.4: Can I downgrade to Axogram?
A downgrade is not possible. Please let your License Key expire and purchase a new one for Axogram. Or you can let your key expire and go back to a free version if that suits your needs.
5.5: How many users can I assign to my Lumion Pro License during my Pro (Floating) *Subscription*?
You have access to floating Seats; therefore, user assignment is not necessary.
5.6: I own Lumion Studio. Can I add Seats to Axogram only - separately?
Lumion Studio License Keys have the same number of Seats for both Lumion Pro and Axogram. Increasing or decreasing the number of Seats will affect both products.
5.7: What happens to my Axogram Seats if I cancel my Studio *Subscription*?
This will result in the cancellation of your Axogram access.
5.8: If I purchase Lumion Pro, do I need to install Axogram and Lumion Pro separately?
Axogram and Lumion Pro are two different products, and therefore their installations should be separate.
5.9: Why should I choose Studio instead of just buying View and Pro separately?
Lumion Studio (now called Lumion Pro (floating)) offers floating Licenses for the Lumion Pro product.
5.10: How long is the multiplied View Seat benefit (10 Seats for every Pro Seat) active for Studio subscribers?
The offer has now ended as of 27th July 2026. From now on, your Seats will revert to the number purchased with Lumion Pro (Floating).
5.11: Can I resell or transfer unused Axogram or Pro Licenses from my Pro *Subscription*?
Transferring or reselling is not possible.
5.12: Do Pro (Floating) Seats require user assignment or License activation per device?
No, the License Key is part of the Lumion installation package.
5.13: What happens to my View Seat multiplication (10x) if I increase my Studio Seats mid-term?
The promotion that provided 10 Lumion View Seats per Studio Seat ended on 27th July 2026.
Current Lumion Pro (Floating) customers retain one Lumion View Seat for each Lumion Studio Seat.
Lumion View and Lumion Pro (Floating) are now separate products, so adding Lumion Pro Seats will no longer multiply the number of Lumion View Seats. e
5.14: What happens if a Studio customer doesn’t renew? Do they lose access to both Pro and View immediately?
The *Grace* period is 14 days after the expiry of your *Subscription*. Please see:

### 6. General questions on Subscriptions:
6.1: Can I merge different Lumion *Subscriptions* together?
Each *Subscription* can be managed individually in the Lumion Account portal. However, if you have multiple *Subscriptions* and wish to optimize their management, get in touch with us, and we will share with you all the available solutions for you and your team. Merging is, unfortunately, not possible.
6.2: Can I downgrade Seats during my *Subscription* term?
You can change the number of Seats before the renewal of your *Subscription* by contacting our [Sales team](https://lumion.com/about/contact-sales).
6.3: Can I add Seats during my *Subscription* term?
Yes, that can be done in the Lumion Account portal. The updated renewal pricing will be prorated.
### 7. User and License management questions:
7.1: How do I assign users to my *Subscription*?
For named-user License Keys, please see:

If you own a Lumion Studio License Key, user management is not necessary for the floating Seats.
7.2: How do I remove users from my *Subscription*?
For floating Licenses, uninstall the Lumion Pro version from the user’s PC
For named-user Licenses:

7.3: How to manage a *Subscription* and the different role assignments?
Subscriptions can be managed via the Lumion Account portal:

You cannot manage user access on a floating License for Lumion Pro
7.5: How do I add users to Lumion Cloud?
At the moment, Lumion Cloud has been released as a beta and is available for free to all users; no Seat assignment is required, nor a *License Key needs* to be registered in order for users to access Lumion Cloud.
All users need is a *Lumion Account*, which, starting from version 2025.1.0, is now required in order to start Lumion. See this article for more information on this change and how to troubleshoot login issues:
