Applicable to: All Lumion versions

1. Question

1.1. A user wants to know how G-Sync affects Lumion.

2. Standard Reply

2.1. Answer:

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out and for the question.

NVIDIA G-Sync synchronizes display refresh rates to the GPU, eliminating screen tearing and minimizing display stutter and input lag. However, when turned on, it does affect Lumion negatively in two ways:

1. If not used with software that was made with specific features for G-Sync in mind (for example games) it might limit the GPU to a value that is much lower than 100% and that will result in low performance.

2. For RTX 30x0 graphics cards the benchmark is showing a low score due to some changes NVIDIA made to Ampere architecture graphic processing units preventing Lumion from choosing the dedicated graphics card for the benchmark (the integrated one is chosen instead). However, in contrast with the effect from point 1, this is only a cosmetic issue.

Hope that answers your inquiry.
