[SR] Supporting clients - License Keys and software management
1. Question
1.1 A system administrator offers security and maintenance services to his customers. One of those services is installing Lumion on their machines remotely. The admin wants to know how to manage multiple License Keys from his clients.

2.1 Answer
Hello
Thanks for getting in touch. There are two other options to possibly consider, and none of them requires too much effort from your clients.
Option 1: Use Lumion Accounts
Your clients can forward you the email they receive for each version (new purchase or upgrade, updates are not required) and you can add that to your Lumion Account. You will have been getting those in the past.
We are not restricting or preventing you from creating a Lumion Account, so long as that is held confidential.
You create your own Lumion Accounts (per client is recommended).
For multiple clients, you would need separate Lumion Accounts to make sure you install the right product to the right client. So that would mean you have separate email addresses for each as tied to a Lumion Account and password. I'm guessing that might be more of a problem, but it's more of a once-only setup task.
When/if the Getting Started with Lumion email is no longer available, then there would have to be some other mechanism. What that is I can't currently say as things are not yet in concrete. For example, there might still be an email to clients to advise of the License Key/Activation Code for upgrades. Updates do not need such notification because that is handled by the download and the Lumion Account process.
So, it should still be OK for your clients who will know what their License Key is either from their Lumion Account or from other advice and so can let you know. How smooth that process is I can't say at the moment as there are still things subject to change.
Then register their License Keys. Then you can do all the downloading and installs on their behalf.
Option 2: Administer using a Spreadsheet:
You might be doing this now or find it suits your work practices better.
So you would get the License Key from your clients either via a forwarded copy of the Getting Started with Lumion email or some other means. When/if the email method of notification was no longer in use then they can still advise you of the License Key and link.
From there, include that in your spreadsheet. And do the downloading and installs for them. As you will be aware, the critical thing is to ensure a License Key does not get mixed up between clients.
I hope those options give you a good platform to work from. Let us know if you have any other questions or thoughts on this.

3.2 User question:
I support multiple clients who use Lumion. I used to be able to download the installer and assign the license as I was setting up a new machine, but now it appears I can't do that anymore. Are there any options for me to access to the download? Constantly asking each client to download the new versions for me as they are released is out of the question. Other companies (Adobe, Autodesk, etc.) allow clients to assign an administrator who can manage their licenses. That administrator can bounce between client accounts without having a separate account for each client. Do you have that available?
------------
Each client has their own license. I am an MSP who maintains their computer systems, and as part of that I set up new machines. Let’s say we replace a user’s machine. I make sure all the applications they need are installed and ready to go for them, using the licenses they own for the various programs. If I remember correctly, you used to make your installer available for download without too much trouble. I’m now faced with the inability to download that installer without having the client’s login information, and as a matter of best practice I should not and will not ask them for their login.
All I’m asking is to be able to download the installer so I can take care of my clients without putting them through too much hassle.
