1. Importing animated models in Lumion
It is not possible to import vertex animations, morph animations, skinned animations or bone animations in Lumion.
Upcoming versions of Lumion will not be able to import vertex, morph, skin or bone animations either.
If you try to import 3D people/animals from websites such as TurboSquid, Anima, 3DPeople, RenderPeople, Mixamo, Daz3d, and Axyz Design, or animated trees from Plant Factory or SpeedTree, they will be imported as static models. 3D people/animals will either be in the so-called T-pose or in the pose that they are in at frame 0 of the animation.
1.1: However, it is possible to import move/rotate/scale animations. Please see this article for more information:
- Knowledge Base: How do you import animated objects in Lumion?
1.2: There is also a possible workaround for characters. It uses a complex process that is not supported by Lumion and our Technical Support, so is subject to use at your own risk. Also, be aware that the resulting files per model animated can be extremely heavy and only a few models at most can be used in a Project. See this process developed by some users:
