If you try to import a model that is too detailed for your computer, Lumion may sometimes hang or run out of memory and crash to the Desktop.
To make sure that Lumion does not crash, please follow these instructions.
1.1: Increase the amount of Virtual Memory in Windows:

1.2: Quit other demanding applications in order to maximize the amount of free System Memory.
1.3: Confirm that there are at least 40 GB of free space on the drive that the Documents folder is located on.
1.4: Please add an exclusion for 'Lumion.exe' to your anti-virus/security software:

1.5: Reduce the detail level of the model in your 3D/CAD software:
1.6: Hide surfaces that are unimportant in your 3D/CAD software before importing the model in Lumion.
1.7: Consider splitting up the model in several parts and import them as separate models in Lumion.
