You wonder if it is possible to enter your new License Key without downloading all of Lumion and then reinstalling it again.
A License Key might change if:
- You are a student and your License Key has expired or is about to expire once the 365 days have passed.
- You upgraded your Perpetual License Key to a Subscription License Key.
- You tested a Trial and now purchased a commercial version of Lumion.
- You have a commercial or Faculty edition of Lumion and you have upgraded. An upgrade uses a new License Key for the new major version.

Updates use your same existing License Key if you have a commercial edition of Lumion.

Here's how it works:
There is no way to enter a new License Key as a transfer.
You need to download and install the new edition/product you have been issued with. And at some stage uninstall the old one. The License Key information is already included as part of the installation files. There is no need for some other License Manager or License Key Utility.
If you are upgrading the version, for example from V11.x to V12.x, then you will still need to uninstall the old version once you are ready to proceed with the new version. And download and install the new version that includes the new License Key.
As a general rule, if you are installing the same major version for example V12 (V12.0.1 or V12.3 or V12.5) then there is no need to transfer your user files in the Documents folder. The same Lumion folder that was in use will continue to be used. Please see the relevant Everything you need to Know article for your version in this section:
