Here's how
Lumion 2023 now supports pre-defined adjustable camera movements. These Camera Paths Presets can be easily fine-tuned to help you create advanced cinematic Movies for your Projects.
In Movie Mode, simply select an empty Clip, and click on the Add Camera Preset Path button:
You can select from 4 different camera movement types:
1. Orbit Path:
This allows for creating a perfect Orbit camera.
The camera and target's height as well as the radius can be easily adjusted using the Move Gizmo.
Or you can use the settings to the left for more precise controls and to set different start/end settings. You can also choose the direction of the spin (clockwise or counterclockwise) as well as the number of revolutions.
2. Dolly shot:
The camera moves over a straight line.
You can set the start and end point and direction using the Move Gizmo, by entering the coordinates manually, or by clicking on the button shown below to set the current camera position as a start/end point.
This mode allows you to also adjust Heading and Pitch of the camera as well and you can reverse the path direction by clicking on this button:
3. Pan/Tilt shot:
The camera is static but you can change its orientation by configuring the start angle and end angles for Pan or Tilt:
Pan: Horizontal movement
Tilt: Vertical movement
4. Follow Object:
This preset will let the camera follow an Object.
Simply select the Object you want the camera to follow and set the position and orientation, or let the camera automatically look at it.
This works with Objects animated with the Move, Advanced Move, Mass Move, and Phasing Effects.
To preview your Camera Path, simply switch from Free Cam to On Path:
- Note that if you have the Handheld Camera Effect active with the Look at Fixed Point setting turned on, that will override the camera target from the Camera Paths Preset.
