How do you import a model from your CAD software?

Modelling_software_logos-2_greyscale.png

Lumion supports most common CAD and BIM software.

The supported model file formats are as follows:

  • .DAE (Collada)
  • .SKP (SketchUp)
  • .FBX
  • .DWG
  • .DXF
  • .3DS
  • .OBJ
  • .MAX (Requires a 3ds Max installation)
  • Along with direct import using LiveSync for software such as: SketchUp, Revit, ArchiCAD, Vectorworks, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, BricsCAD, AutoDesk FormIT, and AllPlan.

Other 3d Modeling Software:

Other 3d modeling software may also export to one of the above file formats.

However, although a file format might be the same, it does not mean that Lumion will always be able to cleanly import the model.  Unsupported software may use some different approaches when they export the model.  You will need to test which might work best.
