Why do I need a Lumion Account?

To keep Lumion connectivity seamless, improve security, and support new services such as Lumion Cloud, we’ve been upgrading our license authentication system. These backend improvements require all licenses to be tied to a Lumion Account, including older Perpetual License Keys.

If you’re using Lumion 12 or older and you’ve never created a Lumion Account or registered your License Key, Lumion may not be able to connect to the new systems in the near future (end of November 2025).

Creating an account and registering the License Key will ensure older License Keys and Lumion versions continue to work reliably with our current servers and prepare you for future updates and services.

Once your license is linked to your account, you can continue using your current Lumion version without having to worry about this change.

What can happen if your license is not registered

Perpetual License Keys not connected to a Lumion Account may have trouble connecting to our updated servers after we finish these changes at the end of November 2025. Registering now guarantees you won’t run into unexpected activation or sign-in issues.

1. Will I lose my license if I don't create an account?

No. Your Perpetual License Key will remain valid. Having a Lumion Account, will simply allow the license systems to validate and recognise the License Key automatically.
