Your License Key has been upgraded! (as at 2025.0 release)

Lumion Pro Subscribers and Lumion Standard Subscribers have both been upgraded to Lumion Studio. Lumion Studio is a new Subscription type that brings:

  • Lumion Pro with floating Seats
  • Lumion View with named-user Seats

2. How do you download Lumion 2025?

For Lumion 2025.1.0:

Customers with a Lumion Subscription License Key will receive an email with instructions on the 26th or 27th of August 2025.

  • Note that it may take up to 24 hours for the email to arrive.

Please check your Spam and Trash folders in case you do not find the email.

To see your License Key log into your Lumion Account and check for the most recent version available under 'Licenses':

2.1: Download via your Lumion Account (please read)

Customers with a current (Active, or Upgraded,) Subscription License Key can download Lumion 2025 from the Lumion Account.

 

Important: Lumion 2025.1 is only available via a full installation.

To get the latest fixes and improvements, simply download and install version 2025.1 from your Lumion Account. Installing this version will overwrite your current 2025 version. 

Lumion 2025.1.0 will initially be available only as a full installation. The ability to Update is expected to be available from late September. The Updater will only be possible when using Lumion 2025.0.2 and newer.
All versions prior to 2025.0.2 need to do the full install.
It is also highly recommended that those on 2025.0.2 also get the new version now via the full install.

2.2: How do you upgrade a Lumion 1-12 Perpetual License Key, or Lumion 2023/2024 (no longer active Subscription) to version 2025?

 

3. How do you install Lumion 2025?

3.1: For Lumion 2024 users

  • Lumion 2025.1 is a standalone, full install.

Warning: Although you can have both Lumion 2024 and 2025 installed on the same PC, it is not advisable to do so.

We recommend first uninstalling Lumion 2024.  Uninstalling Lumion 2024 only uninstalls the software.  It does not remove any of your files used for Projects as saved in the Lumion-Documents folders, such as the Imported Model files, Custom Materials and Groups.

Loading Projects or Imported Models saved in Lumion 2025 and newer in an older version such as Lumion 2024 is not possible and will return an error message. 

The Default Lumion-Documents folder for Lumion 2025 uses a new folder '\Lumion 2025' to ensure files from this version do not get mixed up files from an earlier version.  Do not change the Lumion-Documents folder so that it uses a folder for Lumion 2024 or 2023 (or earlier).

The data is not backward compatible from Lumion 2025 to Lumion 2024 or earlier.  This is especially important for version 2025 as major changes have been done to the data file formats.

Important:  If you are unsure about how to set up your Lumion-Documents folder, or if you think you need to keep using Lumion 2024 along with Lumion 2025, then please consult with us:

 

3.2: For new users and users with Lumion 12.5 and older (who have a Lumion 2025 License Key)

  • Lumion 2025.1 is a full, standalone installation. It is not a patch for older versions of Lumion.
  • Do not uninstall older existing Lumion installations until you have transferred your Projects and Imported Models (see Section 4 below).
  • Do not install Lumion 2025.1 in the same folder as an older version of Lumion.
  • Ensure that there is plenty of free file space on the PC:


4. Important: How do you transfer old Projects to Lumion 2025?

4.1: Follow the steps in this important article

  • Please note that Projects and Imported Models saved in version 2025.0 should not be opened in older versions of Lumion.
  • See also Section 1.4: How do you install Lumion 2025? (above).

4.2:  First time Save

The first time you save a Project file in Lumion 2025.0 or newer after loading it from an earlier version, you will be required to use SaveAs. The Save option is unavailable (greyed out) to prevent any overwrite.  This is very important given the changes to the data structure.  And allows you to still Load an older version LSF file in that earlier version.

6. Is Lumion 2025 Pro Student available? 

Version release 2025.1 for Students and Faculty is planned for during September 2025.

 

Active Student and Faculty License Key holders can upgrade to Lumion 2025 on release day. It may take up to 24h for the version to become available in the Lumion Account. See the following article for News and a specific date:
