Can you convert a current perpetual license to a subscription license?

A Perpetual License Key can no longer be converted or upgraded into a %%Subscription License%%.

To access the latest version of Lumion, you must purchase a new %%Subscription License%%. Your existing %%Perpetual License Key%% will remain active and unchanged.

1. What happens when you purchase a Subscription License?

A new and independent %%Subscription License Key%% is issued.

This means:

  • Your %%Perpetual License Key%% remains available.
  • Your new %%Subscription License%% provides access to the latest Lumion version for the duration of its term.
  • Both licenses can be used independently, subject to their respective number of %%Seats%%.
  • The number of subscription %%Seats%% is based on your new purchase. It does not need to match the number of %%Seats%% on your perpetual license.
  • No %%Seats%% are transferred from the perpetual license to the subscription.

2. What happens if the Subscription License expires?

When the subscription term and any applicable grace period end, the %%Subscription License Key%% expires and can no longer be used.

Your %%Perpetual License Key%% is not affected. You can continue using the Lumion version or versions associated with it.

3. Important information about Lumion Project files

Lumion %%Project%% files are not backwards compatible.

If you save a %%Project%% in a newer subscription version of Lumion, you cannot open that %%Project%% in an older version associated with your %%Perpetual License Key%%.

We recommend keeping separate backup copies before opening or saving older %%Projects%% in a newer Lumion version.
